Well Microsoft live labs has conjured up another one of Bill Gates ideas and created The Photo Synth. It really is a break thru in to what a photo community should be like. Putting you right there in the mix. Its a free online beta photo sharing community, (yes but it’s not that simple) . The program is kind of like Photobucket or Flickr; where it gathers up large collections of photos from its members of a particular place you have visited, finds the minuet similarities and builds it up like a 3-D jigsaw puzzle. Imagine strolling the halls of the Sistine Chapel , or seeing the Great Pyramids of Giza while having lunch in Los Angeles. Talk about frequent flier miles.

This technology is still fairly new, as Microsoft is still working out the bugs. While using the program, the clarity and fluidness of the pictures worked very nicely together. There is a feature that is something I have yet seen , the program allows you to zoom in and out of the picture without getting all pixilated and it also lets you pin –point from what location the picture was taken. Getting a different perspective to a beautiful drop .

I would have to say this though, this photo community with 3-D capabilities is quite new , yet untapped. If approached correctly with applications for this program .. I mean the possibilities are endless. Kind of reminds me of something out of the movies, brought straight to your computer screen. What else is Bill Gates gonna think of next.
