One of the benefits of living in Southern California, other than the constant sun and warmth, is the fact that there is a car show just about every weekend of the year. During the summer, there are more shows scheduled each weekend than one person could possibly attend. One of my personal favorites is the Mitsu enthusiast pilgrimage known as Mitsubishi Owners Day. Held at the Mitsubishi facility in Cypress, CA each summer, this event is a great place to indulge in all things Mitsubishi. A day filled with meeting other Mitsubishi enthusiasts, listening to live music, eating In-N-Out Burger and seeing the newest cars to come out of the Japanese manufacturers design studio.
This years event was impressive and included hundreds of Evo’s, Lancer’s, Starion’s, Eclipses, and at least one Galant VR-4. Vendors like Cosworth, AMS, Skunk2, Cusco, and AEM were also on hand to show their latest wares as well as their newest factory cars. Mitsubishi, not missing out on the opportunity to show off a bit, unveiled the Lancer Sportback, the Outlander GT, and the i-MIEV electric vehicle to the West Coast public. Keep an eye on this site for a more in depth article on the Sportback later next week.
