For some the Lamborghini Gallardo can’t get any better however the manufacturer of the world’s most exclusive super sports cars, recently unveiled the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante at a private event in West Hollywood, Calif. The worldwide debut set a new benchmark in the open top super sports car category, utilizing carbon fiber technology to achieve a vehicle that’s even lighter, more agile and more dynamic than the open top models before it. “The LP 570-4 Spyder Performante represents the next evolution in the Gallardo model range and is the most extreme open-top vehicle in its class,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. “We’ve combined the sheer driving exhilaration of the performance-focused Superleggera coupe with the uncompromising style and design of the Gallardo Spyder to bring new fascination to the term ‘Spyder’.” The weight of the new Spyder Performante was reduced by 143 lbs from the Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder.

Just like its coupe counterpart, the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, the light weight of the Spyder Performante is due in large part to exterior and interior components made from carbon fiber. These carbon-composite materials are perfectly suited to super sports cars because they combine reduced weight with improved technical characteristics. Performance is optimized as a result of lower weight, while CO2 emissions are reduced. The Spyder Performante’s 5.2 liter, V10 engine generates 570 horsepower and guarantees breathtaking performance – it catapults the open-top LP 570-4 from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 201 mph.
